Accessibility
Alt Tab are committed to ensuring that this website (and all that we build) is accessible and ensures that all users, regardless of their physical and mental capability, are able to access the content and services of the website.
In developing this website we have paid close attention to PAS 78 - a guide to good practice in commissioning accessible websites developed by The British Standards Institution (BSI) for the Disability Rights Commission (DRC). We have also adhered to key recommendations made by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative.
In developing this website we have paid close attention to:
Changing the text size
You may use your browser settings to change the text size for all the web sites that you visit. The technique for doing this is slightly different depending on the browser that you use:
- Internet Explorer: Select the 'View' menu (at the top of the screen), and select one of the options under 'Text Size'. The default setting is Medium.
- Mozilla Firefox: Select the 'View' menu, then select Increase, Decrease or Normal.
- Opera: Select the 'View' menu, then one of the 'Zoom' percentage options.
- Netscape: Select the 'View' menu, then one of the 'Text Zoom' options.
Web standards
This website was developed with XHTML and CSS in accordance with the latest web standards. This ensures that the content is accessible to any Internet device. However, design elements such as background images and the page layout will only be available to users of modern visual browsers.
Technology
Javascript
We have used Javascript throughout this website to aid layout, navigation and facilitate form validation. Use of this website is not dependant on Javascript however and users who do not have it enabled will still have access to the content and functionality.
Adobe Flash
Flash content is used in a number of areas within this website. The inclusion of Flash has been implemented with a technique that allows users without Flash to see alternative content.
Users who would like to download the Adobe Flash plugin, can do so via the Adobe website.
