Description of Service

The service is a high-performance, highly reliable, cost-effective solution providing industrial strength operations for business critical web activity. The standard level of hosting support provided is as follows: -

• Provide and maintain web server Internet connectivity
• Implement and manage file system and database backup plan

Hardware & Software Platform

Our web server is based on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with mirrored hot swappable hard disk drives for improved performance and resilience. We can also manage other platforms where development requires alternative technology.

Data Centre

The server is located in a purpose built data centre, benefiting from uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and a diesel generator to supply uninterrupted electricity in the event of outage. A climate control system temperature and moisture levels, whilst an automatic fire detection, prevention, and suppression system is installed throughout the operational area.

The data centre is manned 24x7 and access to the building is via a card and combination key press security system, with CCTV and an intrusion detection system monitoring activity.

Internet Connectivity

The server is protected by a fully managed Cisco Firewall and is connected to the tier one PIPEX network.
